Description

The Stephen Jones designed Mystery 35 became an instant classic of her time. Her classic elegant lines and sleek underwater shape with a ballast ratio approaching 50% deliver a rewarding sailing experience. Below decks, the clever use of space and thoughtful use of modern materials create a comfortable living space with 5 generous berths. An active owner's association provides owners with a wealth of knowledge and support. Commissioned from the factory by her current owner the Mystery 35 DSHIGT II was launched in 2008 and has been based on the west coast of Scotland since. Presented for sale afloat and in excellent condition she represents a rare opportunity to acquire a lightly used example of this stunning modern classic. Her extensive inventory includes highlights such as: Off-white gelcoat to finish topsides and deck mouldings Yanmar 3YM20G (20hp) marine diesel engine, less than 850 hours recored running Yanmar SD20 saildrive unit, hull diaphragm replaced spring 2023 Rope cutter Shore power system with galvanic isolator Battery charger Raymarine S1GP tiller pilot Raymarine ST60 navigation instruments Raymarine C80 classic chart plotter Icom M411 Euro DSC VHF Easy AIS receiver Dometic Starlight gas cooker. 2 burner, grill and oven (2016) Built-in fridge Jabsco manual marine toilet, with holding tank Eberspacher D4 diesel fired blown air heating system Full standing rigging replacement in 2023 Electric windlass with remote control Large selection of additional photos available upon request Wintering ashore at Largs Yacht Haven the Mystery 35 DSHIGIT II is available for immediate viewing. OWNER’S COMMENTS: 'We commissioned DSHIGIT II as a fast, safe, comfortable, and sea-kindly cruising yacht for our young family. She was built to our specifications and exhibited at the Southampton Boat Show in 2008. We first cruised on the Northumbrian and Scottish coast, then ventured further to the Orkney, Shetland, Denmark, and Germany, before bringing her to the Clyde. DSHIGIT II is exceptionally well-mannered and balanced. Her windward performance is second to none, and she is fast even in light airs. Her cockpit offers excellent protection from the elements, and despite her low topsides, she is a very dry boat. Her lines are admired wherever we go. DSHIGIT II was never raced, and has always been professionally maintained, no expense spared. DSHIGIT II has been a fantastic boat and has fulfilled all our requirements. However, the needs of a sailing family change over time, and as a result, we are reluctantly selling her to make way for a vessel that better suits our current needs. We hope that DSHIGIT II will bring her next owner as much happiness and adventure as she had brought us.' PRESS REVIEW: ‘The Mystery 35 is a pleasure to look at and even more of a pleasure to sail. She is good for racing or cruising alike, but with her narrow body and considerable overhangs, she doesn’t have as much interior space as most modern boats. If you’re looking for a new boat that’s a little bit different, and looks, performance and seaworthiness are all important to you, then you really should take the Mystery out for a trial sail.' Duncan Kent. April 2012. Sail Magazine. Boat Review: Mystery 35. www.sailmagazine.com ‘Once you’ve sailed this boat you realise how much you’ve missed getting to grips with a proper cruiser. The Mystery 35 is a boat that has been designed and built to be sailed, whatever the weather. She’s snug, secure, easy to handle and has a performance to embarrass plenty of the current production cruisers, especially upwind.' Mathew Shehan. July 2003. Yachting Monthly.
