These terms and conditions govern your use of the Boat Hound website and services. By accessing or using Boat Hound, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. About Boat Hound

Boat Hound is a boat market intelligence platform that aggregates listing data from publicly available broker websites. We provide price comparison, market analytics, deal scoring, and related tools to help buyers, owners, and brokers make informed decisions.

2. Account Registration

Some features require a registered account. When you create an account you agree to provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to register.

3. Free and Paid Services

Boat Hound offers both free and paid subscription tiers. Free accounts have access to search, browse, and basic tracking features. Paid subscriptions (Pro, Broker Standard, Broker Premium) unlock additional features as described on our pricing page.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time from your billing page. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.
  • We may change subscription prices with 30 days notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email before any price change takes effect.

5. Pre-Purchase Reports

Pre-purchase reports are one-time purchases. Report credits do not expire. Reports are generated using market data available at the time of purchase and are not updated after generation. Reports are for informational purposes only and do not constitute a survey, valuation, or professional marine assessment.

6. Data Accuracy and Limitations

Boat Hound aggregates data from third-party sources. While we take reasonable steps to ensure accuracy, we do not guarantee that listing information, prices, specifications, or availability are correct, complete, or up to date. Data may contain errors introduced by the original source.

Deal scores, valuations, and market analytics are estimates based on available data. They should not be treated as professional advice. Always conduct your own due diligence, including a professional survey, before purchasing any vessel.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically download data from Boat Hound.
  • Use automated tools to access the service beyond normal browser usage.
  • Reproduce, resell, or redistribute Boat Hound data or reports without written permission.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service.
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Create multiple free accounts to circumvent usage limits.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, branding, analytics, deal scores, and reports produced by Boat Hound are our intellectual property or used under licence. Boat listing data originates from third-party broker websites and remains the property of the respective brokers. You may not reproduce or redistribute our content without permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

Boat Hound is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to financial loss from purchasing decisions made using our data.

Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. On termination, your right to use the service ends immediately, though we may retain certain data as described in our privacy policy.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or by a notice on the website. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
