Description

The Danish company LM (Lunderskov Mbelfabrik) was established in the 1940’s as a manufacturer of wooden furniture. In years that followed the company moved with the times, incorporating fiberglass initially in to the design and construction of its furniture before changing its name to LM Glasfiber and starting to build GRP boats. Introduced in 1972 with LM27 firmly established the companies offering with all subsequent models sharing the same design features, canoe stern and pilot house forward of a large open cockpit. Before ceasing boat production in 1995 to diversify again; into the manufacture of wind turbine components, the company had produced a total of approximately 3000 boats in four different models LM24, LM27, LM30 and the LM32.The LM27 must be one of the world's most popular sub 30’ motorsailers with over 1500 hulls manufactured since its launch in 1975 before eventually being re-worked to become the LM28 and later the Scanyacht 290. With her design heavily influenced by the traditional Scandinavian sailing lifeboats the hull is well proven and capable of making good progress under sail alone. Built in 1982 the LM27 SWANSONG is presented in fantastic condition for her age and boasts a comprehensive inventory with highlights such as:Bukh DV24 marine diesel engine (2004)230VAC shore power system with galvanic isolatorSterling Power PRO Charge Ultra battery charger (2022)Hot water provided from 230VAC immersion heaterRaymarine ST2000+ Tiller PilotStandard Horizon GPS Chart 180i chart plotter Garmin GPS128 GPSRaymarine ST40 Bi-Data display Depth/SpeedNASA Clipper Wind instrumentGarmin VHF 100i DSC VHFSMEV built in gas cooker, three-burner oven and grillWebasto Airtop 2000 diesel-fired blown air heating systemPlastimo roller reefing system on forestay (2021)Rocna 10kg anchor on chain rodeLying ashore at Craobh Marina the LM27 TIERELEIR is available for immediate viewing by prior appointment.CONSTRUCTIONHull Construction:Single piece GRP moulded hull.Hand-consolidated GRP laminateGRP formed internal structural membersPlywood bulkheadsPainted topsides in dove grey, similar to original gelcoatNavy blue painted sheerband and boot topUnderwater hull finished navy antifoulingDeck & Superstructure Construction:Single piece GRP moulded deck, incorporating coachroof and pilothouse superstructureHand-consolidated GRP sandwich laminate with balsa coreGRP moulded pilot house roofOriginal Dove grey gelcoat to finish mouldingsMoulded non-slip finish to coachroof topNon-slip paint finish to side and foredeckKeel & Rudder:Full-length encapsulated long keelFull depth, skeg supported rudderMACHINERYEngine & gearbox:Bukh DV24 marine diesel engine (2004)2 cylinder, naturally aspirated, raw water cooledMechanical reversing marine gearboxSingle lever morse controls in wheelhouseMaintenance & Performance:Engine last serviced June 2024Estimated engine hours circa 1000hrsCruising speed 5.5ktsPropulsion & Steering:Stainless steel propshaftVolvo Penta type dripless shaft seal3 blade bronze fixed propSingle station, cable drive wheel steeringRemovable tiller for steering from cockpitAutopilot:Raymarine ST2000+ Tiller PilotSimarad TP22 Tiller Pilot ELECTRICAL SYSTEMSVoltage systems:12VDC onboard power system230VAC shore power systemShore Power:Single 16 amp connectionExtension lead to connect to shore supplyGalvanic isolator (2022)Ring main, immersion heater, battery chargerBattery Banks:Engine Battery – 1x 12vDC, 100AH, lead acid batteryDomestic Battery – 1x 12vDC, 100AH, lead acid batteryAlternators:Single engine mounted 12v alternator (2022)Charging:Sterling Power PRO Charge Ultra (2022)230vAC – 12vDC, 10ampBattery Monitoring:LCD Voltmeters to starboard side of helmOther Electrical:12VDC auxiliary power socket in saloon and at helmWindscreen wiperHeavy current wiring for windlass in place to forward cabin.
