Description

The international formula 4 class is one of the fastest growing classes. The competition between teams and drivers are getting tougher. Molgaard Racing is the producer with the most experience in building boats for this class. Top Speed – 120 to 130 km/h Cornering speed – 75 to 80 km/h G-forces – Drivers experience up to 3G lateral force in turns. Acceleration – Instant & rapid due to the high performance racing surface piercing propellers, that runs half out of that water, this gives a violent throttle responses compared to normal boats. Construction – Carbon fibre, Kevlar, Nomex, and advanced polymer resins are used. Weight – 360 kg inc driver, engine and fuel. Hull Design – The boat is a catamaran, this creates a tunnel under the boat that generates aerodynamic lift like aircraft wings. Circuit – Races are held on short, inshore technical circuits. Regulations – The class is governed by the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) and is an ecological alternative to other classes. Championships – The F4 class provides a pathway to the premier F1H2O championships and is invaluable for driver training. The Formula 4 Powerboat is a testament to the evolution of powerboat racing, offering a blend of excitement, technical mastery and environmental responsibility.
