Description

Antares III is a 100ft composite performance cruising sloop Built by Yachting Developments, launched in Auckland in May 2011. Now on her way up into the Pacific Islands, after completing successful seatrials with the owner and designer aboard. Built to comply with stringent Germanischer Lloyd and MCA classification requirements, the vessel is incredibly strong yet 25%-30% lighter than similar vessels built in Aluminum, this is achievable by the use of composites. The composite structure is post cure epoxy E glass/Carbon/Kevlar incorporating high strength foam sandwich technology. The hull has a Kevlar outer skin for outstanding impact resistance.
