Description

The Rival 38 was the fifth Peter Brett-designed Rival, conceived to fill the gap between the highly successful Rival 34 and the flagship Rival 41. Designed with fuller ends than the smaller Rivals and using a clever raised companionway deck layout, the Rival 38 benefits from having twin aft cabins. The Peter Brett-designed Rivals have proven to be highly capable offshore cruising yachts and are highly sought after by blue-water cruisers around the world. In previous ownership, STROLLA MOR has successfully cruised the Atlantic coasts of the UK and Europe, venturing to the Azores. Benefiting from continual maintenance and upgrades in the last decade, she is one of the best examples of the Rival 38 we have seen in recent years. Now reluctantly offered for sale as her current owner contemplates moving to a motor yacht, she is presented for sale with an extensive inventory, highlights including: Constructed to Lloyds 100A1 Beta Marine B38 marine diesel engine, just 450 hours of running since installation (2021) PSS shaft seal Professional re-wiring of 12V and 230V systems in winter 2020/23, including new switch panel New domestic batteries installed for 2023 season Sterling Power Products ProCharge Ultra battery charger (2014) Custom-built teak wheel Hydrovane self-steering gear (not currently fitted) Raymarine Autopilot system with P70R control head and ACU200 course computer (2024) Raymarine Axiom 7, showing depth and log information (2022) Raymarine i60 wind instrument (2024) Raymarine RAY63 DSC VHF (2022) Sea-Me active radar detector and enhancer Webasto diesel-fired, blown air heating system (2014) Standing rigging fully replaced in 2018 Extensive sail wardrobe Sprayhood and mainsail cover all fitted new in 2019 4 person canister liferaft (2020) 2026 Insurance survey available by request Wintering ashore at Creran Marine, with a launch planned for late April the Rival 38 STROLLA MOR is available for immediate viewing.
