Description

The Southerly 38 was designed by Stephen Jones, and built by Northshore boatyard. It is highly regarded as a versatile, well built, shoal drafted cruising yacht. The Southerly 38 features the highly developed Swing Keel giving the freedom to sail in almost any waters. With the keel lowered, the draft of 2.59 makes for fast, comfortable blue water cruising, at the touch of a button her draft is reduced to 0.82, allowing her to take the ground or anchor in those spots that others just can’t reach. With a fractional rig, self tacking jib and all lines led back to the cockpit, The Southerly 38 is easily handled short handed.
