Description
BROKER’S COMMENTSThe sailing yachts from Boreal in France are very well known among long-distance sailors for offering several things beyond the ordinary. The shipyard listens to its customers and implements their experiences in the production. Boreal yachts are built in aluminum. A material that is well proven and used in many different constructions, where both precision and strength are important. For example, aircrafts, vehicles and ships. Coast guard ships, fishing vessels, ferries and special vessels are often built in aluminum. The yachts from Boreal are equipped with a swing keel, which can also be called a lifting keel or a centreboard. The basic idea of an aluminum sailing yacht with a lifting keel can be summarized as follows: An aluminum hull is good for tough weather at sea and it provides great safety. Aluminum does not absorb water, so the yacht can stay in the water all year round and is not affected by ice and cold. Aluminum itself forms a protective oxide layer on the surface, which gives a minimum of maintenance. The lifting keel gives flexible draft, trim options during sailing and reduced risk of damages in the event of grounding. This combination is excellent for coastal and long-distance cruising and especially for sailing at high latitudes and Arctic waters. The Boreal yachts also have Daggerboards which make the boat more course-stable, resulting in more comfortable steering and making it easier for the autopilot to maintain a stable course in rough weather. This makes it possible to sail the yacht long distances in a comfortable way for a couple or a small crew.Only three yachts of the boreal 55 OC (open cockpit) have been built. Boreal 55 OC, BUSHPOINT is number three. The boat was launched in 2021 and has only had one owner. In my opinion, the owners have taken very good care of the yacht and have full control over all the equipment on board. If you just read the Key Facts, you will understand that BUSHPOINT has well-thought-out equipment and that it is possible to live comfortably on board during long voyages.Congratulations to the new owner on a boat that is completely ready to sail away.KEY FACTS• Well-insulated aluminum hull for sailing at high latitudes.• Swinging centreboard in NACA-profile and rudder in NACA-profile.• Daggerboards.• Watertight bulkheads for and aft.• Watertight door from cockpit into doghouse.• Foldable bathing platform at the stern.• Weight-wise correct placed anchor chain looker at the foot of the mast support in the bilge.• Thrusters both for and aft.• Twin steering wheels.• Two autopilots.• Radar.• Special designed rig from Seldén.• Maststeps.• Diesel generator, Panda.• Solar panels, 1100W.• Wind generator.• Hydro generator.• Lithium batteries, 800Ah.• Watermaker.• Electrical toilets with fresh water flushing.• Washing machine.• Heating system, Eberspächer, with hot water radiators, and REFLEKS stove.• Air condition/ heating.• Windows with double glassing to avoid condensation.• Three burner gas oven, ENO.• Freezer and extra large refrigerator.OWNER’S COMMENTSAfter a decade of exploring both warm waters and high latitudes, it’s time for a new chapter— maybe our newly born grandchild have something to do with the decision. Since 2021, this remarkable vessel “Bushpoint” has been our safe and faithful companion, carrying us to unforgettable destinations: Wild Coast of Ireland, Scotland’s Outer Hebrides, the Faroe Islands, the dramatic Norwegian coast, and even up to Svalbard, crossing 80° North. Every mile of the journey is documented on YouTube, Bushpoint. She’s built for true adventure, and it would be a shame to limit her to gentle summer sailing in Sweden. She deserves an owner ready to take her on more challenging adventures.
