Description

SummaryCattywampus was built at Maine Yacht Center. The build is complete and the boat is fully operational under power. The fit out of systems, electrical and rigging is yet to be done. No sails.Derek Kelsall 38ma full set of digital plans2014 build year launched spring 2019Vacuum infused panel construction H80 Divinycell and unidirectional glass38.3 LOA21 Beam3.1 Draft (mini-keels foam filled)Twin Tohatsu 20HP fuel injected outboards (2019) 9kts cruise speed 20hrs runtimeTwo aluminum gasoline fuel tanks 16 gal each port and starboardTwo fireboy automatic fire extinguishers in each engine spaceKobelt hydraulic helm pump twin Vetus hydraulic steering cylindersTwin spade rudders fabricated by RuddercraftNew complete Sparcraft rotating aluminum mast and boom Facnor mainsail batten car systemNew Dynex Dux standing rigging mast attachment lashings done by Gorilla Rigging in Newport2 double berth aft in each hull1 single berth forward on starboardBeckson inspection hatches throughout1 head forward on port AirHead compositing toiletAll 8 exterior opening hatches Lewmar medium profile 6 of them with screens2 new AGM deep cycle batteries3000W Victron Inverter ChargerWall mounted wifi enabled TV12VDC cabinet style, water cooled, under counter refrigerator and freezer2 burner induction cooktopConvection microwaveDual pressure fresh water pumps, expansion tanks, stainless sink, faucet 1.5gal water heaterTwo polyethylene water tanks 55 gallon each port and starboardNumerous build parts and spares 4 new Harken winches, hardware, etcNew bottom paintBroker Note: very high quality build. With a month or two of hard work, someone could have a very special boat. Build construction is far superior to any production boat.Additional InformationI have attached a drawing from the plans which shows the layout. The only departures from this are the main salon and aft deck in this boat the settee is forward on the starboard side and the L shaped galley is aft on the port side. A nav desk area exists on the port side forward. For the aft deck, instead of the central steering station shown, there are stations port and starboard with the wheel to port. The intent was that the starboard station would have sailing controls and an autopilot controller for follow up steering.

As for the other information:

Aft bunks 45W at forward end x 86L
Forward bunk 34W at aft end x 78L
Can it be completed where it is? Yes and no. Owner work is allowed in the outside storage areas 24/7. I could provide free storage for the boat through 8/31/25. Beyond that, I cannot guarantee a storage space (possible but not guaranteed). MYC personnel (not me) would be available to assist at retail labor rates rate sheet attached for reference.
Cost of where it is? Again, free until 8/31/25. After that, winter storage (if available) fee would be $7,980 excluding shrinkwrap cover.
What still needs doing? The list is long, but here are some of the items:

Deck hardware organization and mounting 4 new Harken size 48 winches are included with the boat but are not fitted
Complete running rigging and sails currently there are dyneema running backs and 2:1 main halyard. I have some used Class 40 sails that I might have recut for the first set of sails.
Windlass/anchor
Nav lights
Cockpit canvas enclosure if desired
Expansion of plumbing system currently just hot and cold water to galley sink
Expansion of electrical system currently just basic AC outlets and stove/micro circuits, DC system will need more circuits, distribution panel, solar, etc
Navigational electronics currently only wind and depth are installed (Garmin)
Shower sump in head (if desired) and bilge pumps (hoses and through hulls are in place)
Finish details locker doors, seadeck flooring, trim, more lighting

Lastly, and very importantly, the wooden ships wheel will not be going with the boat. I am happy obtain and provide something to mount to the helm until the new owner decides on a final choice.DisclaimerThe Company offers the details of this vessel in good faith but cannot guarantee or warrant the accuracy of this information nor warrant the condition of the vessel.
