Description

Redbay Boats are the foremost proponents of building offshore-capable RIBs - designed and constructed to withstand the harshest sea conditions that the Irish Sea can hurl against the massive rocks of the County Antrim coast. Redbay 1650 Explorer Cabin RIB, LADY KATE was therefore built in 2018 with exceptional lay-up weights, substantial structural reinforcement, and a hull shape drawn by the same hand that created many pilot boats and other commercial craft. Combine this remarkable seakeeping ability with a hand-built, luxurious three-cabin interior, and you have a formidably competent alliance of power, speed, and versatility. LADY KATE not only looks the part, but performs her duties with disdain for angry weather, high seas, and challenging operational areas. She is a big, beautiful brute - cut from the same cloth as her cousins, the pilot boats of the Belfast Port Authority. Not one for the faint-hearted, this powerhouse of a RIB is unique, exceptional, and deeply cool.ConstructionRCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) Category B – “Offshore” for 15 persons on board. Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:Acclaimed Redbay deep vee hull, built to cope with exceptional local sea conditions.Hand-laid monolithic GRP construction with white gelcoat finish.Tube material - mechanically fixed expanded Polyethylene foam/air fender system with inflatable centre and Hypalon outer.22” Diameter, 1200 GSM Hypalon collar set.GRP cabin superstructure, laid up with white gelcoat finish.GRP deck laid with Flexi Teak 2G synthetic teak decking to aft bathing platform, cockpit, side, and fore decks.Massive engine inspection hatch to aft cockpit sole, with separate hinged inset hatches.
