Description

BROKER’S COMMENTSDanish yacht builder Nordship Yachts AS was founded in 1978 by Lars Buchwald. In 1988, the yard began producing Nordship yachts, and in the early 1990s, the first deck-saloon models were launched. Located in Lundeskov, Denmark, Nordship celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2018. Their hallmark is a combination of Danish craftsmanship, genuine quality, and excellent sailing performance. Nordship yachts are designed to be easy and safe to handle, making them ideal for both experienced sailors and short-handed crews. On deck, the cockpit is divided into two sections. The aft cockpit features a leather-covered steering wheel on a pedestal, with all sail control lines led aft, ensuring that the helmsperson is always in full control. A self-tacking jib makes handling and manoeuvring exceptionally easy. The centre cockpit is deep and well-protected, with high coamings that double as comfortable backrests and seating for 6–8 people around a large cockpit table. Positioned high above the waterline and near the yacht’s pivot point, these coamings provide excellent protection in heavy weather. The deck, seating, and railings are finished in teak, enhancing both durability and appearance.Below deck, the craftsmanship is outstanding. The interior is hand-built by skilled Danish boatbuilders using solid mahogany for most woodwork, white vinyl headliners for a bright, airy feel, and Corian worktops in the galley for durability. The deck saloon layout features a dining area to port, a navigation station to starboard, and the galley positioned forward in the walkway. The raised saloon offers panoramic views through large windows, with a solid wood dining table that includes a lift-up compartment for wine bottles and fine glassware. The galley is safe and secure in all conditions, located low and close to the yacht’s centre of gravity, and offers generous storage for cookware and provisions. The owner’s cabin aft is spacious, with a large double bed. Forward of the cabin is a cosy ’library’ area with three armchairs (or convertible sofa/berth) and a table – the perfect spot for reading, relaxing, or enjoying a drink. The engine room is housed here too, with a sound-insulated wooden casing and excellent all-round access to the Volvo Penta engine, making maintenance straightforward. From both the owner’s cabin and the cockpit, there is access to a large, full-height sail and storage locker. The fore cabin features a generous berth, ample wardrobes, and plenty of cupboard space. From 2016, Nordship 380DS, TINDRA is in immaculate condition, with a true ’as-new’ feel. If you are looking for a premium-quality deck saloon yacht that combines comfort, craftsmanship, and easy handling, a viewing of TINDRA is highly recommended.Key Facts:• Furling mast from Selden mast.• Self-tacking jib.• Sails from Elvstrøm including Gennaker and Code 0.• SRS metrics 1,198.• Engine, Volvo Penta D2-55.• Bow thruster.• Electric windlass in bow.• Deck saloon with excellent view.• Teak on deck, cockpit and aft platform.• Bowsprit in stainless steel with ladder for easy access.• Navigation instruments from Raymarine.• Radar and AIS.• Sprayhood with grab handle and extension for cockpit.• Area for sailing in aft part of cockpit with steering console and sail manoeuvring.• Protected front part of cockpit with table, free from obstructing lines.PRESS COMMENTS"A 'Luxury Pocket Cruiser'. Nordship is in the Scandinavian boats and boatbuilding philosophy, in company with X-Yachts, Luffe, Hallberg-Rassy and Arcona Yachts. All of these brands have one thing in common: the passion for real sailing and the no-compromise-attitude, something setting Scandinavian yachts apart from the large production boat companies. The Nordship 380 DS is the Danish interpretation of a classy deck saloon yacht, with excellent design from mast top to keel. The yacht is built for comfort using top-quality materials and to perform well, and succeeds combining long range sailing capability with handy measurements. The use of a high-aspect ratio rig with a moderate sail area and a sweetly balanced, easily driven hull form with a lead-bulb keel, make the yacht nimble and rewarding to sail with a healthy turn of speed. Nordship yachts are designed for offshore sailing and extended cruising, so they have to be safe and solidly built.”Sailing Yacht - 2019OWNER’S COMMENTSWe bought TINDRA new from Nordship in 2016 and she has been our trusted companion. She’s built for serious cruising and is safe, solid and surprisingly easy to handle, even singlehanded. Her helm is light, the cockpit secure, and below deck she's both practical and comfortable, with grab rails throughout and a spacious deck saloon that offers full views of the surroundings - perfect for longer passages or just enjoying a quiet dinner at anchor.TINDRA sails beautifully in both light winds and tougher conditions, thanks to her well-balanced hull and smart weight distribution. Lines for reefing and sail handling lead back to the helm, making solo sailing possible and safe. We’ve used the furling main and self-tacking jib extensively, and also have a like-new gennaker, Code Zero, trysail, and anchoring sail.We have sailed her in the Baltic, Göta Kanal, Denmark, Europe to southern Brittany and in Norway up to Trondheim. We have had great extended sailing tours, and have always enjoyed TINDRA’s design and quality. We have now moved to Northern Sweden and have decided to move to smaller boats for sailing the mountain areas where we live.
