Description

PEREGRIN (ex. COOL BREEZE) was the first of her class and built to the first owner’s high specifications. He is a very experienced sailor and boat builder and owner of the shipyard that built the yacht. Her current owners bought her during Summer 2021. Her name and registration were changed and her home port in this ownership has been Palma, Mallorca. This Brenta designed Y8 DC is a light displacement carbon performance sailing yacht designed for fast passage cruising. She is ready to sail away so that you may ‘enjoy the simplicity of sailing!’ The yacht was designed to accommodate six guests and a crew of two. The interior features clean lines, minimalism, and functionality, with various cleverly thought-out solutions incorporated throughout. The emphasis for this yacht was on the owner’s living accommodation. Hence, the owner´s accommodation aft is very comfortable, featuring a centreline double bed, settee, desk area, walk-in wardrobe, and its own access up to the aft deck. The saloon is decorated in a simple and stylish fashion and has been modified since the initial launch with some further personal touches added by the current owners. There is now a sofa and two chairs to port, with the dining area to starboard. The furniture can be easily changed by a new owner to suit their desired style or colour scheme. The chart area is aft of the seating area on the port side, with the crew cabin located aft again from there. The galley is aft of the saloon on the starboard side. Guest cabins are forward, each with a full ensuite head and shower, a double berth and generous stowage. Despite the Y8’s impressive size, a light breeze is enough to get the boat clipping along, thanks to its fast lines. In planning the deck and rig layout for her, attention was paid to making the vessel extremely easy to handle. She was conceived to be sailed by her owner with one crew member. Details include carbon Axxon spars, a fully battened main with switch track, Park Av style boom, and lazy jacks, as well as a self-tacking jib and powered winches well-positioned by the helm. Installations of systems and equipment were also made with a view to easy servicing and to keep everything simple, reliable, and lightweight. The owner’s mantra was ‘keep it simple’ as much as possible in a yacht of this class and high quality. Naturally since purchase the current owners have made updates and other improvements – as detailed herein. However specifically for the 2025 season PEREGRIN has new spectra-carbon Quantum mainsail and jib. She has also had her general services and seasonal preparations. She is ready to go!
