Description
Dufour 500 Grand Large | Well-Specified Luxury Cruiser with Owner's Layout
This Dufour 500 Grand Large combines impressive sailing performance with luxurious onboard comfort. Designed by Umberto Felci and built by Dufour Yachts in France, "Stairway To Heaven" offers generous living space and a specification suited to Mediterranean cruising, offshore passages and extended stays aboard.
Powered by a Volvo Penta D2-75 diesel engine with saildrive transmission, she delivers reliable performance under power. In addition, a folding propeller, Fisher Panda generator and Side Power bow thruster improve manoeuvrability and onboard independence. Under sail, her Selden rig, slab-reefing mainsail, roller-furling genoa and twin-wheel steering system provide confident handling and rewarding performance.
Below deck, the sought-after three-cabin owner's layout offers comfortable accommodation for family and guests. The interior includes three electric heads, separate shower facilities, five-zone air conditioning and Webasto heating. Together, these features create a welcoming environment for extended cruising.
The galley is well equipped and benefits from extensive refrigeration and generous storage. In addition, large hull windows and deck hatches bring plenty of natural light below. The result is a bright and airy feel throughout the interior.
On deck, the large bathing platform creates an ideal space for relaxing at anchor. A sprayhood, bimini and passarelle further enhance comfort aboard. Likewise, solar panels support energy independence during extended cruising.
A structural survey completed in 2025 provides additional reassurance for prospective buyers. Another highlight is the combination of space, equipment and practical design. As such, this yacht suits both family cruising and longer offshore adventures.
"Stairway To Heaven" is currently lying in Leros, Greece. She presents an excellent opportunity to acquire a highly specified 50-foot cruising yacht ready for her next adventure.
