Design and Recognition
The Dufour 405 Grand Large was conceived to deliver maximum comfort and security under sail, combined with clean deck layouts and elegant, modern lines. In 2010, she was awarded European Yacht of the Year in the family cruising category, recognised for combining strong sailing performance with a generous cockpit and a spacious, practical interior.

Sailing and Deck Layout
Under sail, the Dufour 405 is easy to handle and well balanced. ‘Jelly Bean’ is fitted with a fully battened mainsail, furling jib, and a furling Code 0, offering flexibility across a wide range of conditions. Importantly, all lines are led aft to the cockpit, which makes short-handed sailing straightforward and relaxed.

Accommodation and Interior
Below deck, the yacht features the preferred three-cabin layout. This includes day heads aft and an en-suite heads for the forward owner’s cabin, creating a practical and comfortable arrangement for family cruising or guests. The interior is bright, well proportioned, and designed for extended time aboard.

Ownership and Maintenance
‘Jelly Bean’ has been in current ownership for over ten years and has clearly been well cared for throughout. During this time, the yacht has benefited from consistent maintenance and sensible upgrades. Standing rigging was replaced in 2022, machinery has been regularly serviced, and the saildrive diaphragm was replaced in 2025. As a result, she presents as a well-sorted and reliable cruising yacht.

Condition and Readiness
Overall, this Dufour 405 is offered in turnkey, sail-away condition. Because the key maintenance items are already completed, she represents a straightforward ownership proposition for her next owners.

Location and Viewing
The yacht is currently afloat in her marina berth at Mercury Marina and available for viewing by appointment.
