Description

Swan 66-702 was built for an experienced British owner and named TOUCAN. She replaced his former Swan 56. TOUCAN was built at the same time as the first 66-701 LIONESSA, and the two yachts were launched early in 2008. At the time, as I was Swan agent in Spain, I was lucky to be in Finland for meetings and saw and sailed on board in May that year. TOUCAN was conceived and set up to be a family cruising yacht, suitable for long passages. She proved perfect for the owner and took him and his family through north Europe, to the Med and later, on to the Caribbean and USA. She spent the winter 2015-16 ashore in Newport, Rhode Island – once again I was on site and was on board in October 2015. Shortly afterwards in early 2016 she was sold to a new Norwegian owner and renamed ENIGMA VIII. In this ownership, she saw use mostly in the Mediterranean but also sailed to the Canary Islands and back. The owner then decided to downsize and sold / exchanged her for the former GANESH (Swan 60-009) in June 2020. In her current Spanish ownership GANESH has been based mostly in Barcelona and been enjoyed for family summer sailing. Several interior modifications were made improving the starboard forward cabin as well as other works, upgrades, refitting and professional maintenance. The recent upgrades are detailed in the specification, and they include: Full revision of spar and rigging in 2021. New computer and VHF 2021. Replaced thruster and radio batteries. New B&G plotter. Replaced flooring in the saloon. Revision of the generator. Replaced cooker and dishwasher. New refrigeration system. New mainsail and jib by Doyle, 2025. New service batteries and a new inverter are coming early in 2026. The yacht is now even more perfectly set up for easy, reliable short-handed long-distance sailing. GANESH is for sale as her owner wishes to again upgrade to a larger yacht – a Swan of course!
