Description

Now this is a proper motor-yacht; commissioned 2008. INCONNUE is the first of the timeless Aquastar 57s. With three siblings in the 57 sisterhood, she is a rare and charming vessel. Born in St. Sampson’s, Guernsey, in 2007, she was commissioned by an extremely experienced yachting family, who thoroughly enjoyed their time with her. However, times and plans changed, and in 2010 she came into the care of her second (and current) owners, becoming the apple of their eye as well. The 57 is a very particular, and very special, yacht. Not only is she robustly built—Aquastar’s commercial heritage and expertise in designing and constructing phenomenally competent all-weather semi-displacement vessels is second to none—but she is also capable of extended passage-making, with range and speed potential that few yachts can match. To delve deeper: her hull is laid up to the exacting standards recommended by Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, ensuring that her performance is unhampered by poor sea conditions and that she will continue to perform at a very high level for many decades. A deep keel not only protects her beautifully cast five-bladed propellers but also ensures she tracks straight and true, no matter what the weather attempts. Having been at sea on this wonderful cruising motor-yacht, I can confirm that she is simply effortless. Straightforward to operate, easy to handle, docile yet strong and manoeuvrable, her fin stabilisation is sensational – with no lean even in the tightest turn. She is truly safe to move around underway – with reassuringly tall side railings, solid bulwarks, and masses of stout handholds wherever you are working. Having driven sisterships in fiercely confused seas, these little ships always come up trumps – handling broken water and adverse weather with ease. You are also never more than 6 feet away from an icemaker – so not only is the crew safe, but they can also enjoy a cold drink on a hot day. INCONNUE is seriously special – she is presented in an exceptional level of cleanliness, and is maintained by a marine professional, regardless of timing and cost. Her brightwork gleams and her engine room is to superyacht standard. This is, therefore, a very rare opportunity to find a seriously well set-up, meticulously prepared and lightly used passage-making semi-displacement, bred from an impeccable pedigree bloodline, with dashing good looks, fomenting an overwhelming sense of both security and purpose. We have owned INCONNUE for over 15 years and have many happy memories of our time on board as a family. She is a highly specified and exceptionally capable vessel—more of a small ship, really. The stabilisers work brilliantly, and even as relative beginners, we found her easy to handle both when manoeuvring in harbour and underway. She is supremely comfortable, with plenty of space, including a well-designed galley and saloon that flow out onto the large aft cockpit via beautiful bi-fold doors, creating a seamless inside/outside living area. The full-beam master cabin is a particular highlight, as are the foredeck and flybridge, offering ample options for outdoor relaxation for family and guests. We have recently updated her, most notably with new non-plantation teak throughout, state-of-the-art navigation and VHF systems, and a new AV setup. We have been meticulous in servicing everything as it should be, and she is now ready to delight new owners, who we hope will enjoy her as much as we have.
