Description

Launched in 1990 the Hallberg-Rassy 34 was a step change in the design style and configuration of the iconic centre cockpit Hallberg-Rassy designs. Remaining in production until 2005 the design was continually tweaked to improve her accommodation layout, with changes to bulkhead locations, head configuration and placing of portlights etc. Over 450 examples of the Hallberg-Rassy 34 were launched before the Hallberg-Rassy 342 replaced this popular design. A late example of the Hallberg-Rassy 34, MAID OF STRUAN is hull number 472. With just her 2nd owner since she had been based in Scotland since 2018. Now reluctantly offered for sale her inventory highlights include: Original gelcoat finish to topsides and deck mouldings Volvo Penta MD2030 marine diesel engine with saildrive Sail drive diaphragm replaced 2021 Domestic and Engine batteries replaced 2021 Mastervolt BTM-I battery monitor display Eleab battery charger, 20amp Raymarine C80 Classic chart plotter / radar with 2kw radar scanner Raymarine tiller pilot autopilot system Raymarine ST60 navigation instruments Raymarine RAY54E DSC VHF Webasto cabin heating Eno gas cooker Jabsco manual marine toilet Roller reefing genoa x2 Slab reefing mainsail Mainsail cover fitted new 2022 Cockpit bimini fitted new 2022 Electric anchor windlass Inflatable dinghy Outboard Now lying ashore at Kerrera Marina, Oban, Argyll the Hallberg-Rassy 34 MAID OF STRUAN is available for viewing strictly by prior appointment. COMMENTS BY HER DESIGNER: ‘The Hallberg-Rassy 34 with her efficient keel and fractional rig is a departure from the centre cockpit masthead type found on the 36, and a bigger sisters and it is good demonstration of the amount of thought and time dedicated to each one of the models offered. This is a yacht which is more performance orientated, but keeping with the customary directions from Mr Rassy, also easy to steer and well balanced. The aft cockpit is large and well-protected from the sea. The rig is simple and sturdy. The interior volume is very well distributed with good headroom and elbow space All in all, a very nice yacht that will remain attractive for many years.’ Germán Frers CONSTRUCTION RCD Status: Our understanding is that the yacht is certified to CE Category A (unlimited ocean voyages) Hull Construction: Hull constructed of single-piece GRP moulding.
