Description

Remarks :This 2005 Bavaria 38 Cruiser offers a spacious three-cabin interior, a practical fractional sloop rig, and teak decks in very good condition — already on the water in the Ionian and offered at a realistic price for a sound, well-equipped yacht with very little work outstanding. The engine was reconditioned in 2018 and has accumulated approximately 300 hours since refit. The Bavaria 38 is a straightforward and rewarding yacht to sail, well suited to island hopping in the Ionian and the wider Greek waters. She was originally operated commercially in Greece; on completion of that service the Greek authorities issued a tax exemption certificate confirming that VAT is not payable on resale. Highlights Listed below but included in Full Specs: Teak decks in very good condition Reconditioned Volvo Penta MD2030 engine (2018), approximately 600 hours since overhaul Frigomatic FM200 BD35 120-litre electric refrigerator (2023) Lofrans Cayman 88 1,000W electric windlass 15kg Rocna anchor with galvanised chain Dual MPPT solar regulators with dedicated solar panel above bimini RIB tender — AB 10ft Ultra, Hypalon tubes Three-cabin layout with berths for six or more Jabsco electric toilets (2019) Cockpit bimini and sprayhood BROKER'S REMARKS The Bavaria 38 Cruiser is one of the most practical and well-proportioned production cruisers of its era — straightforward to sail short-handed, generous below decks for its length, and very much at home in the conditions the Ionian offers. This example has been maintained with care and fitted with sensible upgrades: a reconditioned engine with low hours since the rebuild, a new refrigerator, and a solar charging arrangement that reduces marina dependency on longer passages. The three-cabin layout works well for a couple using the yacht as a base for extended cruising, or for a couple with guests sharing for a week of island hopping. The cockpit is comfortable and well-organised, with lines led aft and the bimini providing good shade. The teak decks are in very good condition — a detail that makes a material difference to the feel and presentation of the boat. The RIB tender is a practical bonus for a yacht of this type. For the buyer seeking a well-found cruising yacht in a well-connected Ionian base with very little work outstanding, this Bavaria 38 merits an early inspection.

Accommodation :ACCOMMODATION This Bavaria 38 offers comfortable three-cabin accommodation with berths for six or more, well suited to extended time on anchor or passage between islands. The interior is practical and well-proportioned, with good headroom throughout and a layout that balances owner privacy with the social space needed for guests. Natural light is good throughout from hull windows and overhead hatches. LAYOUT The layout comprises a forward owner's cabin and two aft cabins, together with a central saloon seating six to eight at the fixed table, a dedicated navigation area, and a well-positioned galley. Two large wardrobes, extensive cupboard storage, and a full-length mirror are fitted in the owner's cabin. The aft cabins are also fitted with hanging storage. A single heads compartment is positioned forward. DOMESTIC The galley is equipped with a gas hob and oven, a stainless steel sink with pressurised hot and cold water, and a Frigomatic FM200 BD35 120-litre electric refrigerator (replaced 2023). Domestic hot water is supplied via the engine calorifier. The heads compartment is fitted with Jabsco electric toilets with new twist-lock mechanism (2019), pressurised hot and cold water, and a shaving point. A flat-screen television with built-in DVD player and concealed bottle storage are fitted in the saloon. A portfolio of charts, pilot books, and navigation material is included.
