Description

Following the purchase in June 2022, Nautor Swan 80, ZADIG sailed to the Mediterranean and has since been enjoyed cruising with family and friends. She is run by three professional full-time crew. The yacht is maintained in top condition and benefits from having had very substantial refits and upgrading in 2023 and in 2025. Those upgrades really set this yacht apart from any other comparative vessel. She was ashore in February 2026 for her yearly service, and had new antifouling applied. She is now back in the water and ready to cruise for the 2026 season. ZADIG is the perfect fast cruiser or cruiser-racer and for the yachtsman looking for a “sailor’s yacht.” She is very capable of fast passages and ocean crossings. Designed by the renowned German Frers, I believe 24 examples were built (in either flush deck, semi or raised saloon versions). The Swan 80/82 is recognised around the world as one of the greatest performance cruising yachts ever conceived. Here in the flush deck version, she has the best lines and is an iconic yacht. You will enjoy exhilarating sailing while not compromising on comfort and luxury. I purchased the yacht in Ireland in June 2022. I sailed her to the Mediterranean. Her homeport has been Punta Ala. Since purchase, I have spent considerable effort, time, and money to bring ZADIG to her current wonderful condition. She has important updates that will benefit a new owner long into the future. We have during 2023 and again in 2025 made substantial works, upgrades and renewals – including new engine, new gen set, complete new Victron 4 electrical system, new air conditioning, rig service, renewal of the hydraulic system, new upholstery, new batteries, new B&G, new tender, and much more. I have sailed in the Mediterranean only since bringing her down from Ireland. In addition to summer sailing, I like to enjoy the yacht at weekends and any time I have a few days free, sailing in the spring and late in the autumn. Greece has been and will remain my preferred destination, with the Aegean Sea being my most favourite spot (little Cyclades). We have been there every summer. The Tuscany islands as well as Sardinia and Corsica have been frequent weekend destinations. Being in Italy, we also cruised in the south (Capri/Ischia as well the Aeolian Islands). I have not raced the yacht. The name ZADIG comes from Voltaire’s novel. But mostly we chose the name as our family have owned other yachts by the same name. I love ZADIG, in part for her looks – she is a beauty, but also for her sporty sailing performance – even in light airs she sails well, and she looks after us in heavy weather. As a Swan, we know we can count on her comfort, safety, and quality. Following a lightning strike on December 23rd, 2024, in Punta Ala, ZADIG has successfully completed a refit – we did not simply repair or replace what was needed but took the opportunity to further upgrade the various systems of the yacht. We have and will share on request the full NDT reports and work information. This includes a “Nautor Swan Warranty Repair Certificate.”
