Vessel History – 2001 Hunter 410 “Pyrat Soul II” HIN: HUN41311A101 Flag: USA Hunter 410 wing-keel cruiser Builder: Hunter Marine (USA), Alachua, Florida Model: Hunter 410 / 410 SL Year: 2001 (HIN “A101” = January 2001 build for 2001 model year) The 410 series was designed as an offshore-capable cruiser with a B&R rig, in-mast furling, shoal-draft wing keel, and large, livable interior spaces. Documented Ownership & Home Ports Earlier ownership (pre-2022) An online vessel registry entry for HIN HUN41311A101 lists the boat as PYRAT SOUL II with a U.S. flag and an owner hailing from Edgewater, Maryland. Public sources don’t give full details on how many owners there were before me, or any detailed maintenance records, but they consistently show the same vessel name and U.S. registration. Current ownership: • Purchased by the current owner in 2022 • Home port and cruising grounds have since shifted from the U.S. East Coast to the Caribbean, with significant time in the Dominican Republic / Samaná Bay region • AIS tracks from 2023–2024 show PYRAT SOUL II on the U.S. East Coast and then in the North Atlantic / Bahamas–Caribbean corridor, moving at typical sailing speeds (4–7 knots). • This pattern is consistent with a privately owned cruising sailboat rather than a charter vessel; there’s no indication in public listings that it was ever in commercial charter fleets. • Used as a full-time liveaboard and off-grid cruiser by a family crew. • Has safely completed multiple passages and coastal runs in a variety of sea conditions, functioning both as a cruising boat and comfortable floating home. • Dinghy and davit system plus upgraded ground tackle reflect a focus on long-term anchoring rather than marina life.
