Owner's CommentsMy wife and I bought her in 2024. We have completed a number of channel crossings in her. She always makes fast passages. Our intention was to cruise her extensively around the channel. On an early cruise to the Channel Islands we fell in love with Alderney and bought a cottage which we have been fixing up. We are an older couple and have found her to be an ideal yacht for us. My wife loves the big open galley and comfortable salon area. I love her performance and easy handling. Both of us love the fact that she has no deck leaks. It is difficult to find an offshore boat that has no deck leaks. She also has very low maintenance as there is no brightwork to refinish.We are selling her because we just don't seem to have enough time left for the boat when we are spending our summers in Alderney.I am a former boatbuilder and marine surveyor, so we have done quite a lot of small improvements. These include replacing the lower rudder bearing, installing the inverter. fitting the forward teak shower grate, installing grates in two of the salon lockers, fitting chopping boards over the galley sinks, upgrading to all led light fittings.Over my lifetime I have completed four Atlantic crossings, going in both directions. I wish that I had been able to do them in the Bavaria 38!
