Description

The 1998 Oyster 485 Center Cockpit - Pemaquid - is a beautiful example of a reliable and safe bluewater cruiser built by British luxury sailing yacht builder Oyster Yachts. With its Holman and Pye design she features a low freeboard, gentle sheerline, and balanced ends. Featuring a deck salon with eyebrow styling, and the now classic three cabin two head layout, the 485 is a sleek and comfortable world cruising yacht that is easily handled by a couple.  In production for a decade between 1992 and 2002, in which time thirty-six Oyster 485s were delivered, Pemaquid, named Arway originally, was first commissioned by Bob Crandall, CEO of American Airlines. Well cared for by all its owners, Pemaquid has been sailing with the current (and third) owners since 2016.Highlights:StarlinkWater MakerAll B&G electronics/AutopilotBow ThrusterGenerator with only 1776 hoursWater tight bulkhead forwardV-Berth area is designed to be a workshop with plentiful tool/spares storage, a work bench etc.New 2-stroke 15HP Yamaha outboard and Achilles tender includedHeavy Duty Davit system (300lb each)Reverse Cycle heat/airCenter Cockpit design with spacious walkaround aft center berthFull cockpit enclosureIn-mast furling mainsailShoal draft version at 6ft, Mast height 65ftMaintenance log availableSails and Rigging:12mm rolled primary stayRoller Furling Genoa1 Movable StayGenoa 150 Doyle - (2013 and serviced in 2025 with new UV strip added) with new (2025) UV protectionOrange Storm Staysail - hanked onIn-Mast Mainsail Doyle — (2005 and serviced in 2016 and 2022 with new UV strip and enforcement added at wear points)Asymmetric Spinnaker with Pole (2013)Heavy sheets - 3 setsLight sheets - 1 set for SpinnakerHarken In-Mast FurlingStanding rigging (2012)Electronics (All B&G new as of 2019/2020):B&G Zeus 3 12 Chart Plotter at Nav StationB&G Zeus 3 9 Chartplotter at HelmB&G Simrad 4G RadarNAC 3 Autopilot406Mz EpirbDST 810 Knot LogPrecision 9 CompassRF25 Rudder Feedback SensorTriton 2 MultifunctionTriton 2 Pilot KeypadIcom 802 Single Sideband (DSC) distressIcom M506 VHF distressCommand mic at helmIcom MA500TR Class B AIS TransponderPropane AlarmMechanical:Perkins 4236 Engine 6993 hoursNew Head New Raw Water Pump9k Onan Generator with 1776 hours2 Alternators on main engineElectrical/Plumbing:Isotherm Isotemp 1500 watt 6.5 gal Water Heater with mixer (new in April 2025)110 VACVillage Marine Tech (Parker) Watermaker25 gal/hour.   110 VACVictron 5000 watt Inverter ChargerVictron Color ControllerVictron Power MonitorEight Wetcell 6 Volt Deepcycle Batteries (2021)Two 8D Starter Batteries (2023)One 12V Generator Starter Battery Two each 150 Kiocera Solar panels withSunpower Controller mounted on Davits1 Manual Whaler Bilge Pump1 Auto Electric Bilge Pump with High Water AlarmReverse cycle heat/air:A/C unit- Main Saloon CTM CT12000 BTU (new in Aug 2024)A/C unit- Aft Cabin CTM CT 9000 BTU (new in Aug 2024)A/C unit- Forward Cabin Dometic 6000 BTUOn Deck:2 Harken Classic Winches on Mast2 Electric Harken 56-2 Primary WinchesRadar Reflector on mastCustom window covers for saloonCustom covers for Eisenglass on dodgerFull Eisenglass Cockpit Enclosure Custom Sunbrella Awning from mast to lazaretteSugar Scoop Fresh Water hot/cold shower2 Twenty pound propane tanks2 Sterns Harness Integrated Inflatable Life Jackets with quick release lanyardsSpare life jacketsTeak Cockpit TableCockpit CushionsEpoxied Teak Decks, no screws and bungsFish Cleaning StationFour 36” X 13” fenders50 amp and 30 amp shore power connectionsTwo 50 amp and one 30 amp power cords Assorted 50/30 splitter adaptersWinch handlesLife Sling and HorseshoeGround Tackle:Rochna 73 lbFortress 50 lb secondary anchor1/2” galvanized chain - 150 ft3/4” 12 strand nylon rode - 200 ftSalt water anchor wash downBelow DeckV-Berth is a workroom Tool StorageSupply storageMounted ViseNobles Bow ThrusterWatertight Bulkhead with dogsInlet for Engine-driven Jabsco CrashpumpLarge Lewmar HatchSingle upper berthDouble lower berthTwo large hanging lockersFresh Water Vacuflush headSink and ShowerSpares in TubsTankage:150 Gal Fresh Water Tank198 Gal Diesel Tank40 gal Blackwater storage tankRaised Deck Saloon:7 large windows, with 2 that openStorage behind and under white leather cushion seatingTeak interior40” flat screen TVStarlink Wifi RouterSony bluetooth/am/fm/xm stereo with remote3 Fire extinguishers throughout boatPreparedHero Fire Blanket in engine roomGalley:Large Vertical Fridge w/Isotherm 24VDC CompressorLarge Countertop Freezer w/Isotherm 24VDC CompressorDouble SinkIn-cabinet MicrowaveForce 10 3-burner stove with ovenWater filter under sinkHidden trash cabinet under sinkAft Cabin:Centerline Queen bed with dual entryLarge Hanging lockerBedside Flat Table SpaceVisio 24” mounted TVGun SafeHidden Valuables SafeHead with Separate ShowerFresh Water Vacuflush Head40 Gal Blackwater TankTender/Outboard:Achilles DSX350 Dinghy (12 ft)New Yamaha 15 HP 2 Stroke (2024)Whitlock Hand Crank Davits ratedfor 300 lbs eachBelow the waterline:24” 3-blade MaxPropSkeg-hung rudderLast antifoul, hull sanded and two coats of Micron 66 (June 2024)Clear coated props/Shaft with PYI (June 2024)Note: Some items are in storage such as full enclosure panels, spare sails and lots of spares that convey with the boat...DisclaimerThe company offers the details of this vessel in good faith but cannot guarantee or warrant the accuracy of this information nor warrant the condition of the vessel.
