Description
Designed by Ted Gozzard and built to exacting standards, the Gozzard 36 has long been respected as a serious offshore cruising sailboat. With her full-keel design, protected rudder, and heavy-displacement hull, she offers a comfortable motion at sea and excellent tracking in a wide range of conditions. This is a boat that inspires confidence when the weather turns and rewards patience on long passages.Below deck, the interior is warm, practical, and exceptionally well thought out for a boat of this size. The layout features a forward double berth, a convertible saloon table that creates a second double, and a generous aft single berth that serves as an excellent sea berth. With 6'2" of headroom, ample storage, and quality woodwork throughout, she feels solid and welcoming rather than cramped. The galley and systems reflect a clear focus on liveaboard cruising. Recent upgrades include a new refrigeration compressor and plate in 2025 and a high-output watermaker producing over 20 gallons per hour.On deck, she is set up for easy short-handed sailing with roller furling sails, a well-protected cockpit, and a conservative sail plan. The mast, standing rigging, and hull-mounted chainplates were replaced in 2015, and the North Sails inventory remains in good condition. Ground tackle is robust, with a Rocna primary anchor, rebuilt Lewmar windlass, and ample chain and rode for comfortable anchoring.Power comes from a Westerbeke 55D installed new in 2015, with approximately 1,200 hours and extensive drivetrain updates. A strong electrical system with solar, inverter/charger, Firefly AGM house bank, and a Honda generator supports life off the grid. This Gozzard 36 is not a dockside showpiece. She is a capable, honest cruising boat for sailors who value quality, reliability, and thoughtful upgrades, a boat ready to be lived aboard and sailed with confidence.Additional InformationAccommodationForward berthMain Saloon Table folds down into a second double berthAft single berthInterior Comforts and AmenitiesRefrigeration - New compressor and plate (2025)Freezer - Dual unit with refrigeratorStove and OvenPropane Shut Off ValveFume DetectorVented Propane LockerPropane Tanks - (2) 20 lb tanksBarbecue - (2) 10 lb tanks for BBQWatermaker - 20+ gallon per hour (110V, runs off generator, 2017)Water Heater (Replaced 2019)Water System - Jabsco water pump (spares on board)First Aid KitHeadroom - 6’2”Electronics and NavigationAutopilot - Raymarine Hydraulic RamPrimary Chart Plotter - Used an iPad for charts at the helmRadar - Raytheon R 20XDepth SounderSpeed and DistancePrimary VHF Radio - Standard Horizon VHF + RAM micSecondary VHF Radio - HandheldDirection FinderWind DirectionWind Speed IndicatorCompassStereoStereo SpeakersTelevisionAIS ReceiverDeck LightsElectrical SystemsDC - 12 VoltAC - 110 VoltBatteries(3) House Bank - Firefly AGM 116AH (2017)(1) Engine, lead acid(1) Windlass, lead acidGeneratorHonda 2000(2) Solar Panels - 410 wattsInverter - Freedom 10 charger/inverterShore Power CordBattery Monitor - VictronAlternator - 125 amp Max(2) MPPT’sDeck and Hull EquipmentAnchor - Rocna 20Chain - 110 feet 10mm (2022)Rode - AmpleAnchor (Backup)Chain (Backup) - 30 feetRode (Backup) - AmpleAnchor (Dinghy) - SpadeAnchor Windlass - Lewmar (rebuilt 2022)(1) Bow Anchor Roller Bimini Top - Needs zipper replaced (enough material for full enclosure)Dodger - Half hard dodger, half canvasCockpit CushionsCockpit TableFenders and Dock LinesSwim PlatformBow Sprit - 4 feetSwim LadderSide Stanchions and LifelinesDinghy DavitsNavigation LightsDeck Wash Down System - Pump ready to installSails and RiggingMain Mast - Deck stepped, aluminum (new 2015)Roller Furling for MainRoller Furling for GenoaMainsheet TravelerSpinnakerBack Stay Adjuster - ManualBoom Vang - RopeStanding Rigging (2015)Chain Plates - Hull mounted (2015)WinchesCockpit (4)Sails - North SailsMain - Good condition (2015)Jib - Good condition (2015)Staysail - Good condition (2015)Spinnaker - Never used, with sock (2015)Mechanical EquipmentManual Bilge Pumps - Yes(2) Electric Bilge Pumps (1) large (1) smaller near engineSteering Type - CableUSCG Safety Package - LifejacketsFire Extinguishers (2)Emergency Tiller - YesBilge Blowers - YesPropeller - Bronze 3 blade fixedSpare Parts - On boardEngine InfoEngine: Westerbeke 55D 2015Hours - Approx. 1200Injectors (new 2015)Damper plate (new 2015)Transmission (new 2015)Shaft (new 2017)TankageFuel - 35 gallons, aluminumWater - 45 gallons, aluminumHolding Tank - 2 people / 3 weeks, aluminumDisclaimerThe company offers the details of this vessel in good faith but cannot guarantee or warrant the accuracy of this information nor warrant the condition of the vessel.
