Description
Designed by David Sadler and built by Sadler Yachts Phoebe is a fine example of an "unsinkable" Sadler 29. She has twin GRP hull skins separated by closed cell foam buoyancy thus rendering her unsinkable. This is a bilge keel example (i.12m draft) so well suited to many UK coastal locations. These boats have an excellent reputation for handling and seaworthiness, and make good safe family cruisers with a fair turn of speed. I understand that Yachting Monthly' reviewed the design and commented "....It would be hard to find an easier boat to sail, and she feels as though she could cope easily with bad weather".Phoebe Has been well looked after throughout her life and benefits from having a new Sole (Mitsubishi) engine fitted in 2015, new main and genoa in 2016, the genoa has a padded luff for efficient reefing. The standing rigging was all replaced in December of 2021 followed by a complete new Furlex 204s roller furling system for the genoa in 2022. The condition of the accommodation is remarkable for the vessel's age and comprises of a Vee berth forward cabin with good dry storage below. There is an infill cushion available to convert the twin berths into a double whenever required. The heads are located aft of the forward cabin to port with useful hanging locker space opposite to starboard. The light and airy saloon provides a further three berths if required and is a comfortable and pleasant area to dine in or just to relax, whatever suits you best. Plenty of storage places are available and the joinery is in superb order for the age of the vessel.A useful galley is located aft and to port, this benefits from a comparatively recent gas cooker with twin burners, grill and oven, flame failure devices are fitted to all burners. A hot and cold pressurised water supply services the stainless steel wash basin and a large, well insulated, cool box is fitted. Located on the starboard side aft of the saloon is the navigation area with a very useable quarter berth further aft. Phoebe is equipped with a good range of navigation aids including twin Raymarine plotters, AIS, an Icom DSC VHF base unit, clipper duet for log and sounder information, wind information is provided by a matching Clipper unit. The vessel is also fitted with a Nasa Target single side band receiver and a Marlec solar charge regulator.Phoebe is a turnkey vessel, complete and ready for immediate action.
