Mycket vackra och välseglande båtar, men dyra att köpa. Enligt hörsägen fanns det då några entusiaster som frågade Rolf Jacobsson, som ritade RJ 85, om han kunde ta fram något liknande – och det gjorde han. Resultatet blev RJ 140.De byggdes på Tollare varv av självbyggare och jag tror att det byggdes cirka 17 stycken. Alla i lite olika utföranden. Riggar som slup, ketch eller skonare. Inredningen berodde på vad byggaren själv kunde eller hade råd att bekosta. De flesta är flush-däckade, vilket också var fallet i originalritningarna.Många av dessa båtar har seglat riktigt långt. Det är en trygg seglare som klarar mycket vind och grov sjö. Riktigt snabb på halvvind eller undanvind, åtminstone med skonarrigg.”
