Description
Marketing Description ‘Jalesco’ started life as a Mauritius 43 with centre cockpit, ketch rig sail plan. She was then turned into a deck saloon with large comfortable saloon and internal helm. Her present custodian purchased her in 2017 and embarked on a serious project of bringing her up to modern standards. Unfortunately, health issues have prevented completion of the ‘Dream’ and she is reluctantly offered for sale. Her new custodian has the benefit of many years of hard work to get her where she is today and benefits from a yacht with a sound, copper coated hull, full rewire using ‘Oceanflex’ marine grade cable, full Garmin Navigation suite, bow thruster, heating but to name a few. This boat will suit a young couple or DIY solo sailor who has the energy and capability to finish the job. The reward will be a capable, blue water cruiser that will take you anywhere you wish to go.
Mechanical Vessel is powered by a Perkins 6.354 marine diesel engine. The engine is situated beneath the deck saloon floor and is fully accessible for servicing and daily checks. Reduction gearbox driving a stainless-steel shaft and 3 bladed bronze propeller. The engine can be operated from both the interior helm position and the external steering position. The lower helm and instrumentation are virtually brand new and unused. Engine hours are unknown due to new gauges, but she starts and runs well. This is an industrial unit and spares are readily available. As the current owner intended to travel great distance in her she was fitted with new fuel tanks totalling 350 gallons. There are a further two smaller emergency fuel tanks beneath the floor in the engine space.
Electrical The vessel has been completely rewired using marine grade, ‘Oceanflex’ cable. The switch panel adjacent to the inside helm position is brand new and yet to be labelled. Bank of 9x12V batteries providing engine start and domestic power. The engine start bank is coupled to provide 24V. The battery banks are fitted with selectors and are recharged via the engine alternator. Onboard battery/smart charge when attached to shore power. Both 12V and 3-pin 240V sockets.
Rigging Deck stepped aluminium, twin spreader mast. Stainless steel standing rigging and terylene running rigging. Aluminium boom which you can adjust the height of. In-mast furling mainsail and roller furling genoa. Electric Lewmar 40 self-tailing winches with foot pedals. Lewmar 46 sheet winches and messenger halyard winches. Sails include in mast furling main and roller furling genoa with UV strip.
