One of Moody Yachts Most Iconic boats. The Moody Carbineer 46, designed by Laurent Giles does it all in old school style. Beautiful lines, thoughtfully constructed using high quality materials and extremely practical. She is the consummate pilothouse ketch of her era and highly sought after. Interior and accommodation She was was described as being light and airy inside, enhanced by her light oak joinery, which made her suitable for warmer climes, but also had the advantage of a warm and secure saloon for UK passage making. At a glance Access hatch to below decks has a sliding hatch and twin opening doors and spray canopy. 3 separate sleeping cabins. V berth forward, Twin cabin forward, aft owners suite. Sleeping a total of 6 in comfort + 1 saloon. U shaped galley amidships at the lowest point to make cooking at sea safe and comfortable. Owners en-suite heads and separate day heads opposite the galley. Finish & furnishings Light Oak interior joinery in satin varnish. White hull linings and deck head gives a bright appeal. Plenty of storage in cupboards and drawers below the work surface and cupboards and open shelving storage above. Hull side opening porthole and opening portlight above. Pilothouse / Saloon To port is a raised L shaped settee with gloss varnished table with mountable fiddles in bespoke storage on the window ledge. To starboard is a two seater settee. These seating areas provide a wonderfully bright place to relax. There is a storage rack for books on the port side aft. There is storage behind the port settee where the cockpit table and deck seating is stored. Behind the starboard settee there is storage and access to the freezer. There is storage below both settees. There is a helmsman’s seat on the port side at the wheel. There is a stand alone drawer and cupboard unit to starboard which provides storage for things like table mats etc as well as navigation charts and information. The windows are of aluminium construction and slide vertically to open for ventilation. There is a ceiling hatch with clear Perspex for light and ventilation. Steering position & navigation Steering position to port with wheel and helm seat. There is an area in front of the wheel and also to starboard of the companion way to the galley which can be used for chartwork. In front of the steering wheel you have the chart plotter which is interfaced with the autohelm. There is a stand alone Garmin GPS. The instruments for wind depth and speed are mounted on a wooden dash. The VHF sits on the left of the steering wheel along with the traditional Sailor VHF Radio telephone system. There is a cupboard at floor level and another double door cupboard beneath the steering wheel. Owners en-suite aft cabin Double bunk to port with drawer beneath. Settee berth to starboard with draw beneath. There is a high level locker on starboard side at the rear bulkhead. A shelf runs along each side with opening twin portholes above. Central dressing table with seat, drawers, a mirror and cupboard above. Two reading lights and overhead lighting. Forward to starboard is a three drawer unit with flat shelf and a wardrobe. Under the floor is access to the prop shaft and heads seacock. En-suite Manual Jabsco toilet. Moulded sink with additional counter top area and cupboard below. Pressurised hot and cold water. Shower. Mirror. Towel rail. Cupboard behind toilet gives access to sea cocks and waste pipe. Deck and deck equipment Deck Laid teak side decks with raised bullworks running aft to the slightly raised, teak laid aft deck and cockpit. Secured by a stainless steel pulpit and stanchion posts running twin guard wires aft. The guard wires terminate at the side boarding gates and a solid teak rail with stainless steel stanchions secures the aft deck and cockpit area. There are incorporated davits for the dinghy. Cockpit Binnacle mounted wheel steering with stainless steel grab rail, instrument pod and wood table. Large starboard locker which hold fenders, warps, fender skirt and mooring warps. Large port locker holding helm cushion, deck chairs and miscellaneous gear. Stern helm seat / lazarette with gas bottle storage.
