Description

Remarks : 1964 Riva Ariston - Restoration Project The current owner has cared for Aile Blanche (White Wing) for over 20 years and kept her on display at his home in a purpose built display garage while he carried out her restoration. Among Carlo Riva's celebrated range, the mahogany-hulled Ariston is considered the purest form - the archetypal post-war classic motorboat. With only 1,016 ever built over 25 years, rough estimates suggest there are only 400 left in existence, it is widely regarded as the Stradivarius of boats. This 1964 example measures 6.8 metres, is registered on the Small Ships Register, and is powered by a Chrysler petrol engine. The hull has been professionally rebuilt by renowned traditional boat builder David Moss of Skippool, Lancashire. The engine has been re-built and has never been run in the water - all components are present. She comes with a two-part wooden sled, a new all-weather cover (2023), and a trailer. Work remaining: re-chroming, Bimini cover, upholstery, electrics, windshield rubber seal and final assembly.
