Description
The Excalibur 36 is a very capable offshore cruiser. Avilion has been in her present ownership since 2008 and they have lavished maintenance, renewals and upgrades to her over this period including hull, decks, mast & boom professionally painted in Awlgrip, teak in cockpit replaced, replacement interior teak flooring, internal repaint, modernised with stainless steel surfacing to heads and galley, re-wire and replacement navigation equipment, plus much more. Well worth early inspection.

Accommodation
The accommodation offer five berths in two cabins. V berth forward with infill and storage under. Opening hatch to foredeck and easy access to chain locker. Separate heads compartment to port with Jabsco marine toilet and stainless steel basin. Extensive use of stainless steel panneling to bulkhead and lockers. Wet handing locker opposite heads to starboard.
In the saloon there are two settee berths with drop leaf table between. Extensive storage beneath and above settees.
Outboard facing chart table to starboard with full size table and instruments. Quarter berth aft of the chart area.
The L shaped galley is to port. There is extensive use of stainless steel worktops. Plastimo Neptune 2500 gas cooker with grill and oven. Stainless steel sink with manual and electrically pumped cold fresh water system. 50 gallons water capacity.
There is patterned Velour upholstery in excellent condition. 2 oil lamps. Clock and barometer. Various bed linen.


Mechanical Systems
Located under companionway step with excellent all round access. 1981, Yanmar 2QM15 marine diesel engine. Electric start. Shaft drive to three blade propeller with rope cutter. Single lever engine control. Hours unknown. New exhaust hose, elbow and gaskets in 2022.

Electrical Systems
Three 12V batteries charging by recent engine alternator and 240v shore power charger. 240v sockets. Battery monitor system. The boat was re-wired, lights replaced and new batteries in 2022.


Sails and Spars
Masthead Bermudan sloop rig. Professionally painted (2014) white alloy mast and boom. Stainless steel standing rigging with backstay tensioner. Inner forestay. Headsail furling system. Slab reefing to mainsail with stack pack. Spinnaker pole. Two Harken 44 self tailing primary winches. Two Harken 40 self tailing secondary sheet winches. Two Harken 32 self tailing halyard and control line winches. Reefing winch.

Construction
Built in 1964 by Southern Ocean shipyard to a design by E.G.van de Stadt. Professionally blue painted grp hulll with gold cavita line and black toe rails. Professionally painted (2014) white moulded and painted coachroof with non skid decks. Long fin keel with encapsulated lead ballast. Wheel steering to balanced rudder (teak wheel). Teak laid cockpit seats and grating to sole. Teak coachroof grab rails. Stainless steel mooring cleats. Midship cleats. Stainless steel safety rails and stanchions. Stainless steel ventilation cowels.
