Description
A beautiful example of the popular Miss Silver class of Motor Sailor built by James Silver of Rosneath, Scotland. Know as Melissa she was extensively refitted in 2003-5 by the Ocean Yacht Company in Cornwall to a very high standard. She is a genuine head turner and the constant subject of admiring comments. A wonderful little ship, beautifully presented and full of the heritage that the "Silver" yard bestowed on all the vessels it built between 1910 to 1970. An absolute pleasure to view. Available with the option of her Mylor Yacht Harbour Pontoon berth.RigKetchBERMUDAN KETCH RIGSpruce mast and spars Stainless steel standing rigging Main and mizzen slab reefing, stack pack & LazyjacksMain mast re-wired 2017WINCHES:2 x Harken two speed self tailing genoa winches2 x Single speed Halyard winchesSAILS:Mainsail by Doyles 2005Mizzen by Doyles 2005Jib by Doyles 2005Cruising shute 2005Broker commentsPotentially availableZodiac 2.6m air deck dingy (2005)Mercury 3.3hp outboard (2005)NAVIGATION AIDS:Plastimo compass (2005)Raymarine Speed/Log (2005)Raymarine Wind (2005)Raymarine Depth (2008)Raymarine GPS/Chart plotter (2005)EPIRB (2005)Raymarine DSSC VHF (2008) GROUND TACKLE:Bruce anchor with 120ft galvanised chainFisherman's anchorElectric windlass GENERAL EQUIPMENT:Manual bilge pumpAutomatic bilge pumpNavigation lightsSteaming lightDeck light on spreadersGuardwire, Pulpit & PushpitCabin summer sun cover for UV protection - New 2022Pilot gas detectorBoarding ladderWarps & fendersBoathookEngine sparesCutlery, crockery, utensilsSAFETY EQUIPMENT:2x LifebuoyFire blanket1x automatic fire extinguisher 2x manual fire extinguisherENGINE:Beta Marine 50hp Diesel Engine 2005Fresh water cooledCruising speed 6 knotsMax speed 7 knotsShaft drive to fixed three bladed bronze propellerELECTRICS:Domestic batteryEngine start battery Batteries are switchedCharged by engine alternatorShore powerTANKAGE:2 x 20 gallons stainless steel fuel tank2 x 40 gallons stainless steel water tankWATER SYSTEMManual pressurised cold water system Heated by engine Calorifier JAMES SILVER "MISS SILVER CLASS" Motor-Sailer built 1963Designed by John BainExtensively refitted in 2005-6 by the Ocean Yacht Company in CornwallCONSTRUCTION:Carvel Mahogany planked hullHull repainted FebruaryFastened on oak timbersTeak laid decksTeak superstructureLong keel, lead internal ballastWheel steering to steel plate rudderVarnishing in excellent condition for the season aheadRepainted (hull) plus varnish 2023 for the seasonL.O.A. 31'L.W.L. 27.8'BEAM 10'DRAFT 3'6"DISPLACEMENT 10 Tons TM
