Description

The Dazcat 1295 strikes the perfect synergy between speed, comfort, safety and quality of build that has been tested and proven for over 30 years by our dedicated design, build and test teams. As one of the lightest multihulls of its size on the market, the D1295 makes the ultimate performance cruiser-catamaran choice. Whether inshore or offshore sailing this boat comes with race-winning capability, wrapped up in a beautiful head-turning package that is competitively priced and epitomizes the top end of iconic British design and engineering. The Dazcat 1295 is easy to sail and handle even short-handed. All halyards and lines run back to the security of the spacious cockpit that provides clear 360 views around the boat from the twin helm stations. When you do need to go on deck it feels safe. With handholds in all the right places and stanchions set at 700mm, above the minimum required height it’s easy to move around on deck confidently, even in adverse conditions. A well placed step gives safe access to the mast when needed and also to the solar-panel covered bimini top, which provides a safe platform for working at the boom, on the rare occasion when it maybe necessary. Forward, the net provides a superb lounge space that is also secure for children so you can all enjoy worry free boating. It’s also a great storage area for extra sails and toys like kayaks or paddleboards.Assisted by the carbon dagger-boards the Dazcat 1295 sails upwind particularly well and tacking through 90 deg is smooth and effortless and assisted by the self-tacking jib makes it an easy one person job. The cable steering and carbon rudders mean the 1295 responds instantly to the lightest of touches on the helm and its overall strength, well proven in offshore racing, means you can rely on it to take you wherever you want to go whether cruising or racing, with fingertip control.Whatever kind of sailing you enjoy, it’s equally important that shore time is also a pleasure. The dingy can easily be raised or lowered by one person via the carbon davits so nipping ashore while at anchorage is no hassle at all. The low sterns with built in retractable bathing ladder and hot shower make jumping in an appealing option. The stern profiles also maximise your choices when going alongside at a marina as there’s easy access whether stern or side to. Engine controls are easily to hand from the helm and with views all around the boat including the 4 corners and with twin props, coming alongside couldn’t be easier.Nothing on this boat is by chance. Every aspect has been designed in as a result of 100s of 1000s of miles and hours. The result is the sense of ‘rightness’ that you feel when you are on board and particularly when sailing, difficult to pin down but definitely present. Without doubt the 1295 represents understated design genius based on over 30 years of experience.Ensuring your happiness is our mission here at Dazcat and we invite you to talk to us through the design and build stages to make sure any personal preferences are met. It’s a small team and the directors are ‘hands on’ so you’ll be talking to them directly throughout. Once delivered, the relationship doesn’t stop, we’re always here to help and support you.

AccomodationA simple step in takes you into the bright saloon, surrounded by windows and opening hatches to bring in plenty of natural light and ventilation. The PVC foam core throughout the boat creates a substantial insulation against the elements and also ensures the boat stays dry and free from condensation. The finish, designed for ease of maintenance and its clean minimalist look, is practical and easy to clean. There are three double cabins, two aft and one forward. All the cabins are fitted with memory foam mattresses and offer spacious comfort for a good sleep every time or, for those quiet moments, to curl up snuggly with a book or to watch the water through one of the many ports. Each cabin has massive long-term storage under the bunks as well as ample easy-access shelving and lockers for your daily clothing and items. The aft cabins are optionally fitted with a neatly unfolding vanity-table mirror unit that also stores your personal-care items and has handy sockets for any appliances, such as a hairdryer. Cabins are also fitted with reading lamps and dimmable lighting options run throughout the boat. Veneers, fabrics, lighting and colour finishes can be all your choices, or we can help guide you through the decision-making process. The half-height central galley runs along the center of the starboard hull and looks across the saloon to the navigation station. Huge lockers line the galley. Outboard, there’s a hanging/ wet-locker at one end and then more than ample storage space for long-distance provisioning, as well as easy access to everything and the oven/ microwave at the forward end. The massive worktop, hob and double sink are designed for cooking up feasts and the central location of the galley keeps motion to a minimum to help you do this even in severe conditions. The full views of the saloon, deck and cockpit from the galley also mean you can easily keep an eye on everything that’s going on above and below decks. The fridge freezer is nestled neatly into one end of the bar, which acts as a perfect serving station to the saloon and is lined with more lockers on the galley side and systems access on the other. The saloon seating is above more, handy long-term locker space and the table can convert to a day bed or fourth double. The nav station is placed at the port side of the saloon for easy access from the cockpit and to be able to keep an eye while eating or sailing on auto-pilot.The electric flush head and shower are placed forward in the port hull wet-room area, with sink and mixer tap. Twin water-tanks are placed between the hulls and a viewing hatch makes it easy to check levels.Electrical Systems feature a 100 amp hour lithium battery. The super B and node basted switch panel is displayed on a robust Murphy screen, which contributes to keeping system weights down.Internal finishing is carefully hand-faired by skilled craftsmen and is complemented with trims and linings of your choice.Bimini and solar panels are fitted as standard.

Sails and rigAs standard the boat features a 17m carbon mast with main sail area of 65msq and a self-tacking jib with an area of 35msq, with a choice of sail fabrics to suit your sailing plans.
